How to use Internal Tools
tools.nextpower.com is the front door of the Nextpower internal applications: one sign-in, one card per tool with its live figures, and the place to install on your phone.
Signing in
Use Sign in with Nextpower: it is your normal Nextpower (Okta) account. Once you are in, the other tools open without asking again; the launcher hands each one a short-lived pass with your name and groups.
Access is managed by IT. If Okta says you cannot sign in, you are not yet assigned to the Internal Tools application; ask IT to add you.
Sign out ends your Internal Tools session in every tool. It leaves your corporate Okta session untouched, so signing back in is quick.
The cards
Each card is one application. The figures on it come from that application a few moments ago and refresh every five minutes: items this week on the Marketing dashboard, the next events, the pieces in production. Open the card to work; the card is only the glance.
If a card says Live figures unavailable, the application itself is fine; only the glance could not be read. Open it as usual.
Which cards you see depends on your Okta groups once IT configures them; until then everyone sees the same set.
Live event apps
Tools tied to one event (a run of show, a follow-up list). They appear with the event and are retired after it. Apps for attendees have their own, separate access.
On your phone
Add the launcher to your Home Screen and it opens full screen, like an app, with every tool inside:
- 1iPhone or iPadOpen tools.nextpower.com in Safari, tap the Share button in the bottom bar, scroll down and choose Add to Home Screen.
- 2AndroidOpen it in Chrome and tap Install app in the menu, or the Install button the page offers.
Only the launcher is installable; the tools themselves are pages inside it. Everything needs a connection: the tools show live data, so there is no offline mode beyond a short notice.
Giving feedback
The footer of every page shows the version and build. Quoting it with your note, for example v1.6.0 on iPhone, is all the context needed.
Describes Internal Tools v1.7.4. If a screen only made sense after reading this, tell us: the aim is an app that explains itself.
